Nicolas Louis currently serves ECHO as Coordinator for Latin America & the Caribbean, as a Disaster Preparedness Expert and has done so since 2018. Previously Nicolas served as Head of Office in Myanmar, Haiti, Chad, and Southern Sudan (2006 – 2018), Head of sub Office at OCHA in Sudan (2000), Logistics & Security Officer at WHO in Angola (2005), and Team leader, Head of Mission & Emergency Expert at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Paris, Zaire & D. R. Congo, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Latin America Emergency Office, Congo-Brazzaville, Iran, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda, Angola, Bangladesh, and Mozambique (1989-2004). Nicolas holds a Master’s Degree in International Development, IFAID Aquitaine, Bordeaux, a Higher Degree in Political Sciences, Université Lumière, Lyon, and a Post-Master’s Degree in International Trade, Université Antilles-Guyane, Guadeloupe, France.
