Amb. Albert M. Muchanga, born on May 21, 1959, a Zambian national was elected as the new Commissioner for Trade and Industry of the African Union Commission. Mr. Muchanga was the Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office in charge of Parliamentary Affairs in Zambia. H.E. Muchanga was also a former Ambassador to Ethiopia with extra accreditation to the African Union. He has both at home and abroad dealt with issues broadly related to international economic policy analysis and implementation as well as regional integration, foreign policy analysis and implementation.
Hon. Advocate Sadique Kebonang

Honourable Advocate Sadique Kebonang was elected Member of Parliament for Lobatse Constituency and appointed to Cabinet as Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry in October 2014 after the National General Elections. He was Assistant Minister until he became the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security in October 2016. Prior to joining the Public Service, he was the Managing Partner of Sadique Kebonang Attorneys. He had also served as professional Assistant at Briscoe Attorney, Monthe Marumo and Associate at Magang Attorneys.

In addition, Honourable Advocate Sadique Kebonang was the Executive Director of Choppies Group of Companies, which is listed in the Botswana Stock Exchange, and was responsible for all legal, franchise and Human Resource matters in this group. His experience covers being the Director and shareholder of Honeyguide (Pty) Ltd and Executive Chairman and Shareholder of Coromex Service (Pty) Ltd and Executive Chairman and Shareholder of a local newspaper the Patriot. He has also served in a number of Boards such as National Food Technology Research Centre, Public Enterprise Evaluation and Privatization Agency (PEEPA) and the Botswana Police Council. Honourable Advocate Kebonang therefore boasts a wealth of experience in both the legal discipline and business industry.

Honourable Advocate Kebonang holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) in International Trade Law, from the University of Botswana, Master's degree in Business Administration from De-Montfort University United Kingdom and a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Botswana. He was a member of Law Society in good standing until he was admitted as an advocate of the High Court and other courts of the Republic of Botswana, on the 28th February 2015.
Dr. Gyu-Sang Jang

Dr. Jang was a R&D director at Samsung Electronics for 3 years, and at KT (Korea Telecom) for 18 years mostly at mobile division. An accountant with more than two decades of experience in the South African coal industry, Andre Boje founded South African focused coal trading company Chandler Coal (Pty) Ltd in 1997 following a successful executive management career in various industries. In 2005 after a period of exponential growth the company was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) as Wescoal Holdings Limited, enabling a transition from purely coal trading activities to a fully-fledged coal miner and trader. Wescoal, with three fully operational mines, is now one of the leading junior coal mining and trading companies in southern Africa. Andre was appointed to the Board of Directors of Minergy in January 2017 and its Chief Executive Officer in February 2017.
Ibrahim Abdelrahman Ibrahim Shaddad

Mr. Ibrahim Shaddad is an Expert and Consultant in Mineral Resources Development and Management, and a Sudanese national. He holds a Master of Science (1989) in Geological Surveys with Specialization in Structural Geology & Remote Sensing for Exploration, ITC, Holland and currently serves as the Director General at the African Minerals & Geosciences Centre (AMGC). During his career, Mr. Shaddad has served as Geologist at the Geological Research Authority of Sudan (GRAS), and in collaboration with overseas institutes such as BRGM, SFB, RRI, University of Mainz - Germany, University of Dallas - Texas, and Red Sea Margin Research Project of Kuwait University, in addition to various Government positions for the Republic of Sudan. Mr. Shaddad has also published geological reports.

Since joining McKinsey in 2013, Mr. van der Ende has served clients in the Mining sector across the globe, with a primary focus on holistic performance transformations. He has worked in both open pit as well as underground operations, has been active on all 6 continents, and supported strategy, growth and operational improvements programs. Mr. van der Ende holds a Master of Science in Applied Earth Sciences, with a specialization in mining engineering.

After moving to Southern Africa in 2008, he has managed exploration and mining projects in Zambia, Togo, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Namibia and Botswana. Mr. Jones graduated in 1997 with a B.Sc. Noleen is a geologist with more than 20 years’ experience in multi-commodity mineral exploration and evaluation of gold, platinum, chrome, iron and coal exploration projects throughout Africa and gold exploration in South and Central America, based in Peru. Noleen has been involved with WiMSA since its inception in 2010 and has filled most of the portfolios. She was the chairperson from January 2014 to December 2016. She is an active mentor to young females in the mining industry and vocal through media and conference presentations of the need for role models in this male dominated industry. These include the 2014 South Africa Mining Lekgotla, the United Nations’ African Women Business Linkages Forum in Kenya, Mines and Money in London and the Mining Indaba in Cape Town. Noleen was named one of the Top 10 Global Inspirational Women in Mining for 2016.

Victor Mine, a remote based open pit diamond mine operation, accessible through fly-in and fly-out arrangement. Mr. Elias has an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management, Toronto, Canada; a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) – Metallurgical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, USA and an Emergin Leaders Program (ELP) Certification from the London Business School, London, UK. He has vast experience with Shell as he has worked in the Retail business with Shell since 1998 in Southern Africa as well as Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. In His Career growth at Shell, after being Shell Country Chairman for Botswana in 1993, Wayne moved to Papua New Guinea as General Manager and eventually became Managing Director. His role included being accountable for Retail, Fuels & Bitumen, Mining (included large mines such as OK Tedi, Tolukuma, Porgera, Lihir & Misima). In 2013 He returned to Botswana to steer Shell Botswana during its transformation from Shell to Vivo Energy Group, and heads Vivo Energy Botswana to date, as Managing Director. Frazer is a geologist by profession, having graduated from the Royal School of Mines, London with an honours degree in Mining Geology in 1985, and a Ph.D in 1998. Frazer worked for WMC Resources for 16 years in a variety of senior global exploration roles, before he joined African Energy in 2005, becoming MD in late-2007. Since then the Company discovered the massive Sese coal deposit in Botswana which is now in a joint venture with First Quantum Minerals Ltd. Frazer subsequently led the company through the acquisitions of the Mmamantswe and Mmamabula West coal projects, and is now managing their subsequent development as major power generation projects for the SADC region.

Gabaake Gabaake has extensive senior level experience in both the private and public sectors, both at Exco and board levels. As a former Permanent Secretary for the Government of the Republic of Botswana, at Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water resources, he oversaw the country’s entire diamond and mineral sector, which makes up approximately 40% of national GDP. He also oversaw the energy and water sectors and led the ministry through the challenging chronic power shortages in 2009/10 leading to the decision to build Orapa 90 MW power station in record time. Mr. Gabaake also served as Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Local Government during which time the project implementation capacity of the Ministry and focus on quality of service delivery was improved measurably. He has extensive board level experience (including Chairmanship roles with enterprise turnover of USD 3.3 BN) as well as Executive functions. Mr. Gabaake possesses demonstrable leadership skills, deep commercial capabilities and the ability to manage multi-stakeholder relationships at a senior/executive level. He is currently Executive Director at Tlou Energy and leading a team on international and local experts whose dream soon to be realised, is to become the pioneers of the development of a natural gas industry in Botswana, giving the country a cleaner and much more flexible source of energy.

Neeraj Saxena received Bachelors and Master’s Degree from Kharkov State Polytechnical University, Ukraine in Mechanical Engineering. Completed his MBA with Gold Medal from O P Jindal Global University, India and University of Texas, Dallas starting from 2010 till 2011. Prior to joining juwi Renewable Energies he worked with Eskom Generation Business Engineering in South Africa where he led several Power Station refurbishment and new-build projects and UMEME Ltd in Uganda where he led several distribution substation refurbishment and new-build projects. Bunty has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours – The University of Cape Town), a Master of Science Degree in Engineering (The University of the Witwatersrand), and a Master of Business Administration Degree (The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business).
