ASEC Virtual Format

Africa Security Symposium 2020
6-7 October 'Virtual Event'

Due to the unprecedented times we are all currently facing, the Africa Security Symposium for 2020 will take place in a virtual format with the dates remaining on October 6-7.

The ongoing situation of COVID-19 has pushed us all into a challenging period. Threats to our security be it through terrorism, cyberattacks or disasters won’t just disappear because of this pandemic. In fact, to the contrary, things may worsen. It is of paramount importance that Africa continues to protect their way of life, their systems, their borders, their communications, their infrastructure and development for the future. Now more than ever it's vital we stay connected and evolve...

Rt Hon. Ali Mohamed Gedi, Former Prime Minister of Somalia

Hon. Col. Charles Okella-Engola, Minister of State for Defence of Uganda

ASEC still remains an opportunity like no other! Holding this year's event virtually means no travel time away from the office, and you get to meet key decision makers from the safety of your own home. Our world-class online virtual platform is intuitive, engaging and easy to navigate. It will consist of an auditorium featuring our high-level discussion panels, with sessions pre-recorded but incorperating live Q&A. As with all previous ASEC meetings (Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Senegal, Abidjan etc.) we will welcome senior government (defence, interior, police), U.S. and UN officials, NGOs, prime and subcontractors, buyers and suppliers from across the globe, all focussed on collaborations for the good of Africa's long-term peace and stability.

There will be an exhibition hall featuring interactive booths for ASEC sponsors and all invited speakers. Booths will be customizable, imitating the feel of a live exhibition, featuring: videos & presentations, branding, downloadable material, website and social media links, live chat including video calls.

GRV Global's revered 1-2-1 pre-scheduled matchmaking meetings will also take place throughout the event in private chat rooms, allowing attention to be focused on the core concerns of individuals. Networking will also be carried out on a 1-2-1 basis using live chat within the networking lounge. There will be a constantly live Info Desk including dedicated technical support, with the entire platform remaining open for 28 days after the event so that delegates and exhibitors can still connect directly and download content after the conference.

Attending the Africa Security Symposium not only gives you the opportunity to hear first-hand from the continent’s leading intelligence and peace support officials but, you are able to engage participants personally – matchmaking meetings, displays and demonstrations, and ample time for networking with like-minded peers and colleagues.
